    Seeking a service-minded executive to provide entrepreneurial leadership to Opti-Port’s core membership offering.


    Opti-Port is a national alliance of independent eye care providers focused on leveling the playing field by helping smaller eye care practices compete against national retail chains. Through the power of partnership, Opti-Port provides revenue enhancing, cost saving and market expanding opportunities for its member companies. Specific programs include continuing education, specialized trainings, advanced web technology, marketing solutions, and group purchasing.     Due to accelerated growth, Opti-Port is now seeking a high-energy professional to champion member engagement and ensure all members realize the full value of their relationship with Opti-Port. Though its roots are in group purchasing, the firm continues to expand its services as the dynamic nature of the eye care industry creates greater demand for a wider array of training and assistance. Through ongoing consultations with members, the Director of Member Services will be ideally positioned to connect members to Opti-Port’s growing capabilities.

    Responsibilities

    Major Responsibilities:

    • New Business Development: Provide leadership to efforts to grow the Opti-Port membership. Support and coach the New Member Recruiter in the sales process. Collaborate with the Marketing Director in developing and executing the annual marketing plan.
    • Member Engagement: Strategize the best opportunities for Opti-Port to add value to its members… in aggregate, as well as in each client’s individual circumstances. Consider how to make the most of Opti-Port’s ongoing meetings and interactions with members. Make timely visits to existing members to enhance customer engagement, drive participation, gather feedback, and report on membership ROI.
    • Member Consulting: Serve as a trusted advisor to member executives – helping them think through business challenges and connecting them with the appropriate people or programs to spur growth.
    • Supplier Relations: Collaborate with team members to devise negotiating strategies for the key suppliers in Opti-Port’s group purchasing network. Participate in these negotiations from time to time to ensure a successful resolution.
    • Team Management: Recruit, manage and develop a growing team of product or service specialists. Initially the Director’s team will number 3 direct reports, and this number is expected to grow over time.
    • Service Enhancement: Monitor unmet member needs and industry trends for opportunities to expand Opti-Port’s products/services and drive even greater value to members.

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years prior managerial-level experience within a service business.
    • Experience in any of the following markets is a plus: eye care, healthcare, management consulting, group purchasing organization, industry associations.
    • Must have the ability to quickly earn the trust and confidence of “C” level executives in mid-sized eye care practices.
    • Must be comfortable working with financial statements and helping organizations think through profitability.
    • Prior contract negotiation experience required.
    • Should excel at creative problem-solving and pattern recognition.
    • Prior experience managing and developing a small team is required.
    • Must be a self-starter.
    • 4-year degree required; MBA or advanced degree desired.
