    Our strategic plan calls for growth, innovation and aligning the organization’s resources to nimbly act and react to shifting market dynamics. PAI is seeking a Senior Vice President of Operations at our headquarters in Bourbon, MO. This key executive position will be responsible for leading people, increasing our manufacturing capacity, spearheading operational excellence and enabling us to be more responsive to our customers and anticipate industry disruption. This person will serve as a member of the executive team and as an integrated partner to all.

     

    The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, strong leader who serves as a catalyst for achieving strategic and tactical deliverables, with a successful track record of identifying, driving and sustaining innovative process improvements. This leader will position the organization for success as the channel between PAI and the end user evolves.

     

    Responsibilities

    Reporting directly to the President/COO, the Senior Vice President of Operations will:

    • PROVIDE ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP – Serve as a key member of PAI’s Executive Management Team and partner closely with the President/COO to continue developing and implementing a robust operational vision and expansion strategy. Lead by example with un-reproachable ethical standards, high integrity, unparalleled customer service, and great enthusiasm about our business to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
    • LEAD A HIGH-PERFORMING TEAM – Lead, motivate, and develop high-performance teams. Inspire trust and credibility between employees as modeled through personal leadership. Grow and mentor existing bench strength with a focus on career pathing and creating developmental opportunities throughout the employee lifecycle. Promote PAI’s culture by living our mission and values, conveying a high degree of emotional intelligence and by creating an atmosphere of open communication and personal accountability.
    • DRIVE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE – Lead the Operational Vision throughout the organization. Develop holistic annual plan for Operations that clearly delineates metrics that describe success, as measured by profitability, quality, timeliness and safety in plant locations. Drive cost reductions and efficiencies with in-house screen printing, embroidery, procurement and distribution. Develop and apply sustainable lean practices to implement process improvements for business unit operations.
    • SPEARHEAD MANUFACTURING INNOVATION – Assess and understand the sales teams’ needs to create manufacturing programs that support current and future business demands. Continually assess and leverage technology to support the current business model as well as preparing for future growth and change. Reconfigure our current manufacturing footprint to support a transition from long-run to short-run batches. Develop plan to become an industry leader in digital-based manufacturing.
    • OWN THE SUPPLY CHAIN – Cultivate strong relationships with key vendors and customers. Expand PAI’s network for strategic sourcing. Understand and institute agile responses to the daily challenges and opportunities that arise in manufacturing, order processing, and distribution. Increase PAI’s nimbleness by growing our network of qualified contract manufacturers. Capitalize on profitable revenue opportunities with current warehousing and logistics capabilities.

    Qualifications

    • 6-10+ years of progressive operational leadership, including specific prior experience in both manufacturing and distribution-based business environments.
    • Proven track record of success in creating and maintaining a culture of accountability in a variable volume, high-mix manufacturing setting is strongly preferred.
    • Proven experience and successful implementation of company-wide continuous improvement strategies including lean systems design, resulting in improved quality, lead-time and productivity.
    • Strong computer skills including a proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
    • Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree (MBA, EMBA) is strongly preferred.
    • Apparel product design, direction, and sourcing experience a plus.
    • Screen print apparel and embroidery background a plus.

    • Proven experience in cultivating organizational change, creating buy-in for new initiatives and achieving results through market mastery and a data-driven approach.
    • Solid strategic planning, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to multi-task, assimilate new information quickly and create long-term solutions.
    • Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams.
    • A collaborative, yet, competitive and resilient attitude with a strong work ethic is desired.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport across the company while quickly and confidently gaining respect of others, including superior listening and coaching skills.
    • Personable, approachable, and visible leadership style coupled with a sense of humor!
    • Customer-service oriented with a high level of integrity and character.
    • Solid technology skills, including a proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Salesforce and PowerPoint and other tools utilized for business performance analysis.
