    Senior Director – Digital Strategy & eCommerce at Nancy's Notions

    In alignment with strategic goals, Tacony is now seeking a creative, innovative, and experienced Senior Director to join its D2C subsidiary, Nancy’s Notions. This newly-created role will lead a transformative digital effort; provide direct oversight for team members in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; and, partner closely with Tacony’s leadership in St. Louis, Missouri. Coupled with dynamic people-skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for driving eCommerce, our future Senior Director must bring a proven CPG background along with deep experience in digital marketing, retail visual merchandising, analytics, and all related eCommerce functions.  

    Responsibilities

     Reporting directly to Tacony’s Senior Vice President of Digital Strategy & eCommerce, the ideal candidate will:

     

    • PROVIDE ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP – Partner closely with senior leadership to develop and implement a robust strategic vision and operational growth strategy for our D2C operation. Evaluate existing platforms and develop eCommerce strategies that will propel an existing catalog sales business into a robust eCommerce operation.
    • SET PROFITABLE GROWTH STRATEGY – Identify best go-to-market strategy and project revenue targets. Drive profitability through eCommerce to ensure success of short- and long-term growth objectives. Partner with senior leadership to steward financial resources effectively. Proactively communicate success and challenges to senior leadership.
    • DRIVE RETAIL VISUAL MERCHANDISING –Develop, implement and drive visual merchandising standards which are directly in line with the company’s brand and marketing strategy. Collaborate with store team to discuss any identified opportunities, issues or needs. Monitor sales forecasts and demand planning to propose action plans for optimal inventory management.
    • BUILD BRAND AWARENESS – Own and direct content program from ideation, creation, syndication and measurement. Turn company narratives into global customer and prospect-focused campaigns. Protect brand voice and message consistently in all digital communities (blog and email), company social channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.), and all eCommerce initiatives.
    • ESTABLISH KPI’S & MAXIMIZE ANALYTICS – Utilize eCommerce analytics, SEO, and related metrics to track progress, modify strategy, and celebrate success. Partner closely with our sales and demand generation team members to set benchmarks for asset success and conversion.
    • LEAD A HIGH-PERFORMING & COLLABORATIVE TEAM – Lead, motivate, and develop internal team members and work cross functionally to develop trust and credibility between employees as modeled through personal leadership. Create an atmosphere of open communication and personal accountability to further eCommerce initiatives and day-to-day tactical operations.

    This position may be based either in our corporate office in St. Louis, Missouri, OR, at or near Nancy’s Notions in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Travel to Nancy’s Notions offices in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, will be required 3 days per week. Relocation assistance is available.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 7-10+ years of progressive marketing and eCommerce experience, including specific experience in a D2C product-oriented and/or specialty retail environment.
    • Proven experience in cultivating organizational change and creating buy-in for new initiatives through the use of data-driven approaches and a cultivation of deep market understanding.
    • Prior team and/or departmental leadership experience is necessary.
    • Successful implementation of best practices in marketing automation and SEO attainment coupled with proven eCommerce, digital marketing, web site design and development skills (code, graphics, design elements, conversion enhancements, paid search, demand gen, social, content).
    • 4-year degree in marketing/digital marketing or related field is required.
    • Advanced degree (MBA or related marketing degree) a plus.

    Compensation Package:

     

    Tacony has been recognized as a great place to work! Compensation for this position includes a base salary with bonus based on annual goals. Excellent benefits package includes health, dental, vision insurance, PTO, retirement and profit-sharing, life, & AD&D insurance as well as short-term and long-term disability.
