    Now operating under experienced 3rd generation family leadership, Seyer continues to successfully serve as a direct supplier for the U.S. Department of Defense as well as a recognized supplier to a growing number of highly-reputable commercial and defense OEMs. In alignment with recent growth and market expansion, Seyer now seeks to hire an experienced, innovative, and accomplished Director of Quality who brings not only the requisite technical expertise but also a strategic yet hands-on leadership style to keep Seyer’s quality systems and strategies, policies and procedures, NADCAP special processes approvals, and client relationships at their highest level.


    This newly-defined leadership role will serve as a key member on Seyer’s management team and will frequently partner with Seyer’s ownership and executive leadership team. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, our new Director of Quality will be called upon to:


    • PROVIDE STRATEGIC QUALITY LEADERSHIP – In close partnership with owners, management, and the quality team, develop and implement a comprehensive quality vision, culture, structure, and management system in compliance with AS9100. Serve as top advocate, educator, and champion for company-wide quality vision. Lead by example and instill a sense of ownership for quality control at every level in the production process so as to meet and to exceed customer requirements.
    • DEVELOP & ADVANCE SEYER’s QUALITY SYSTEM – Evaluate and enhance the Seyer Industries Quality System to ensure inclusion of customer-invoked quality requirements. Review and improve KPI’s to share with team and leadership. Increase the level of quality performance through hands-on and daily interaction with the operations team. Identify root cause and develop corrective action plans for quality issues. Drive effective action plans as it relates to scrap, rework and quality audits. Oversee testing lab and all inspection equipment. Recommend and evaluate capital expenditures, technologies, and, appropriate departmental staffing levels to ensure innovation and cutting-edge quality assurance. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with 5S standards.
    • BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL & EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS – Provide internal thought leadership while serving as both expert and educator as well as an accessible and hands-on consultant to internal stakeholders and team members across four (4) shifts. Develop close relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure quality standards continuously align with expectations. Interpret and clarify quality standards with a balanced and compliant approach. Ensure written documentation accurately communicates quality testing and compliance measures. Participate in site assessments and client audits.
    • INSPIRE A HIGH-PERFORMING TEAMProvide oversight and inspiration for a growing team of 20+ quality employees, including 6 direct reports. Promote Seyer’s culture by fostering an atmosphere of open communication and personal accountability. Grow existing bench strength and foster developmental opportunities. Manage cross-functionally to achieve critical quality assurance goals.


    Location: This position must be based at Seyer’s corporate offices in Saint Peters, Missouri. Relocation would be expected upon hire and relocation assistance is available.

    • Minimum of 7-10+ years progressive quality/quality leadership experience, ideally in the aerospace industry or in a related industry with heavy compliance standards.
    • Proven departmental and or team leadership experience, including a comfort level with employee recruitment, employee coaching and development, and performance management.
    • Strong familiarity with AS9100 quality system requirements and/or an aptitude to master NADCAP requirements and NADCAP certification process.
    • Well-versed in best quality practices ranging from proof of production to laboratory testing and final inspection. Proven ability to rectify quality issues in compliance with safety standards and customer specifications that appropriately suit internal capabilities and requirements.
    • Well-versed in six sigma and 5S, lean manufacturing, and related quality improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Solid business acumen and financial skill set, including prior departmental budget experience with a fundamental understanding of financial statements and reporting.

    • Must lead by example and be willing to flex from strategic initiatives to day-to-day tactical and boots-on-the-ground team leadership and consultation activities.
    • Entrepreneurial drive with an owner’s mentality and the desire to make an impact. Must be motivated and passionate about taking a solid quality program to its next level in alignment with company growth strategies and goals.
    • Excellent communication skills are a must-have – presentation, verbal, and written. A demonstrated ability to produce clear and compelling written documentation essential.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build trust and rapport at all levels – with employees, customers, suppliers, ownership, and all stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
    • Strong software skills and solid understanding of MS Office products.
    • 4-year degree in a relevant field is required; MBA/advanced degree is highly desirable.
    • CQM certification a plus.
