In the 120 years since the bank first opened its doors, Town & Country has grown to be one of the largest community banks in South Central Missouri. Today, Town & Country Bank serves eight Missouri communities including: Salem, Rolla, Licking, Bourbon, Mountain Grove, St. James, Ava and Pevely.     We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer who can provide the vision and leadership to successfully execute our recently adopted strategic plan.  Our ideal candidate will be able to communicate the bank’s vision, cultural values and overall direction to our employees and lead implementation.  In direct partnership with the Chairman, the CEO will meet the goals for prudent growth, service innovation and soundness, identified in our strategic plan.  We are looking for an action-oriented leader, who is highly adept at process improvement.

    Responsibilities

     

    Reporting to the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, responsibilities include:

     

    • SENIOR LEADERSHIP – In partnership with the Chairman of the Board, lead and oversee the implementation of the Bank’s strategic plan. Model and articulate the mission, vision, values and culture at the heart of the Bank’s success. Supervise and collaborate with all executive officers to develop short and long-term plans and programs to meet the goals identified in the strategic plan.  Ensure strong communication among all Bank constituents.
    • OVERSIGHT – Communicate regularly with the Board of Directors, keeping the Board informed of the Bank’s condition, operations and key decisions made by members of senior management. Plan, formulate and provide recommendations on policies and programs that will further the Bank’s goals.  Ensure an ongoing evaluation system is in place to regularly track goals and provide progress updates to the Board.  Attend all Board of Directors meetings.  Serve on all executive Bank committees as required. 
    • FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP – Develop an annual budget and monitor performance in partnership with the Chief Financial Officer. Report quarterly budget variances to the Board of Directors.  Evaluate the credit risk of prospective and existing debtors and formulate default forecasts to be presented to the Board of Directors.  Understand and evaluate credit.
    • RISK MANAGEMENT – Assess and evaluate risk associated with sound Bank processes. Prepare an annual capital plan taking into account growth, asset quality and shareholder dividends, amidst regulatory guidance based on the financial condition of the Bank. Remain current on industry trends and regulatory shifts.  Assess impact to the Bank and prepare countermeasures, as necessary.
    • TALENT DEVELOPMENT – Build and coach a strong executive team. Foster a culture that reflects the Bank’s values, encourages good performance and rewards productivity.  Develop leadership and succession strategies, and oversee staff professional development opportunities that facilitate a highly cross-trained workforce.
    • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT – Assess opportunities for growth both organically and inorganically and provide recommendations in alignment with the strategic plan to the Board of Directors. Build the bridge between the retail and lending sides of our local branches, creating a seamless transition for our valued customers.
    • COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE – Be the face of our bank throughout our markets and uphold our reputation as a community bank. Participate in civic and charitable organization events that increase awareness. Foster a culture of intense customer service that embodies our commitment to the communities we serve. 

    Qualifications

     

    • At least 15 years of progressive experience in a community banking environment, culminating in a senior leadership role.
    • Strong credit and business development experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required.  An MBA is preferred.
    • A strong leadership record with demonstrated excellence at working with the senior leadership team in driving strategy and sound business management practices.
    • M&A exposure in terms of due diligence and integration is preferred.

    • A strategic mindset, solid analytical skills and an ability to proactively identify and implement process improvements.
    • Must be adept at navigating complex and/or family-owned environments.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, inclusive of the ability to interact and work well across all levels of the company. Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills are expected.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, while demonstrating the ability to delegate tasks appropriately and maintain attention to detail.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and resolve conflict in a fair and consistent manner.
    • Team player who is willing and able to adapt their approach across a diverse employee base and is able to handle challenges from others.
    • Must be open and flexible to ideas and suggestions from others.
    • Operates within the highest of ethical standards.
    • Ability to grasp technology, understanding the capabilities of accounting systems. Self-sufficient in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

     

     

    Location:

    This position is based out of our branch in Rolla, MO. Relocation to the local area is required, as an active presence in the community will be the foundation for success in this role.
