    Now seeking entrepreneurial GM for locally-owned, multi-client, public warehousing company!


    The Delivery Network (TDN) is a leading 3PL public warehousing and storage company headquartered within 10 minutes of The Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis.     In anticipation of future growth, TDN is now seeking an ambitious people-centric General Manager to play a vital role in furthering the company’s growth strategy. This newly-defined, entrepreneurial leadership position will not only ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations, but also work to develop internal talent, set expectations for growth, foster a safe and innovative work environment, and continue to cultivate our client-centric culture. Our GM will also partner closely with owners to drive client satisfaction, increased sales, and overall company profitability.


    Reporting directly to our EVP of Sales & Operations, our new GM will be asked to take on the following primary accountabilities:

      • Provide Operations Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse management team in three (3) local locations with 30’ ceilings and high-cube storage. Establish, monitor, and, share metrics necessary to drive successful warehouse performance. Partner closely with ownership on company vision, values, and, annual strategic goals and business objectives.
      • Lead a High-Performing Team: Hire, train, and motivate a productive team of 22+ employees including 2 direct reports. Foster a culture of team work and encourage all employees to share ideas and best practices. Balance staffing needs with fluctuating customer demands to maintain optimal efficiency, service levels, and profitability. Design and implement a performance management system and identify growth opportunities for team members.
      • Ensure Top-Notch Client Experiences: Foster a client-centric culture to achieve a high-level of client service and satisfaction with both direct clients as well as their customers. Establish customer service standards for all accounts and create team accountability. Recommend operational processes to satisfy changing client requirements. Ensure proper handling of special orders and the flexibility to manage special projects as necessary.
      • Drive Continuous Improvement: Manage with an eye for continuous improvement. Recommend warehouse operations improvements by analyzing process workflow, workforce planning, spatial requirements, and equipment lay-out. Identify and share cost savings through system improvements, headcount optimization, and, improved square footage utilization.   
      • Prioritize Workplace Safety & Technology: Maintain a positive and safe work environment through OSHA compliance and safety training. Develop suitable programs to maintain highest standards of safety, sanitation, maintenance, security, and equipment operations. Contribute to the utilization, development and enhancements for the Warehouse Management System’s (WMS) features and functionality.
      • Assist with Marketing & Business Development: In partnership with EVP, participate in marketing and sales efforts, including outreach to pre-identified sales leads. Develop new account strategies and facilitate sales calls, quoting rates and negotiating contracts to close service deals.
      • Assist with Financial & Facility Management: In partnership with EVP of Sales and Operations, develop and recommend an annual operating budget as well as a system of controls to ensure that service levels and performance goals for operations are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters. Ensure that all accounts achieve predetermined profit standards. Procure equipment as approved. Secure new facilities as required to assure efficient operations to meet both customer needs and company growth goals.


    Key qualifications include:

    • Minimum of 7-10+ years operations experience in logistics, public/contract warehousing, and or distribution center operations. Experience with pick and pack services a plus.
    • Proven labor management experience, including prior supervisory experience for 20+ member team. Ability to provide leadership, guidance, and, excellent communication to warehouse management and hourly team members is critical.
    • Solid budget management skills and an understanding of P&L factors are critical.
    • Strong software skills, including a proficiency in all MS Office products and with WMS software.
    • Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
