    D2C subsidiary seeks innovative & entrepreneurial eCommerce leader!


    Our client, a privately-held company in the St. Louis area with a major direct-to-consumer subsidiary in the Midwest, has announced an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Director – Consumer Marketing & eCommerce for its specialty retail operation.


    In alignment with strategic goals, the Senior Director of Consumer Marketing & eCommerce will be responsible for the creation, development, and implementation of the digital properties, tools, and strategies necessary to fuel growth within its D2C branded subsidiary. Our new leader will foster collaboration across the subsidiary and manage relationships with strategic partners to deliver a robust, profitable, and best-in-class customer experience.


    The Senior Director will develop a high-growth eCommerce and branding strategy for our D2C entity. Our Senior Director will also identify and implement a growth plan tied to our subsidiary’s P&L that is aligned with corporate divisional goals. While partnering closely with sales, marketing, operations, and customer service teams, this newly-created leadership role will be tasked with increasing overall revenue, strengthening brand recognition, and garnering greater customer loyalty.


    Partnering closely with our senior leadership team, the ideal candidate will:


    • PROVIDE ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP – Partner closely with senior leadership to develop and implement a robust strategic vision and operational growth strategy for our D2C operation. Evaluate existing platforms and develop eCommerce strategies that will propel an existing catalog sales business into a robust eCommerce operation.
    • SET PROFITABLE GROWTH STRATEGY – Identify best go-to-market strategy and project revenue targets. Drive profitability through eCommerce to ensure success of short- and long-term growth objectives. Partner with senior leadership to steward financial resources effectively. Proactively communicate success and challenges to CEO and senior leadership team.
    • BUILD BRAND AWARENESS – Own and direct content program from ideation, creation, syndication and measurement. Turn company narratives into global customer and prospect-focused campaigns. Protect brand voice and message consistently in all digital communities (blog and email), company social channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.), and all eCommerce initiatives.
    • ESTABLISH KPI’S & MAXIMIZE ANALYTICS – Utilize eCommerce analytics, SEO, and related metrics to track progress, modify strategy, and celebrate success. Partner closely with our sales and demand generation team members to set benchmarks for asset success and conversion.
    • LEAD A HIGH-PERFORMING & COLLABORATIVE TEAM – Lead, motivate, and develop internal team members and work cross functionally to develop trust and credibility between employees as modeled through personal leadership. Create an atmosphere of open communication and personal accountability to further eCommerce initiatives and day-to-day tactical operations.



    • This position will be based in our corporate office in St. Louis, Missouri. Frequent travel to and from our subsidiary in the Midwest will be necessary. Eventual relocation to the Metro-St. Louis area is required for this role, and, relocation assistance will be provided.


    • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive marketing and eCommerce experience, including specific experience in a D2C product-oriented and/or specialty retail environment.
    • Proven experience in cultivating organizational change and creating buy-in for new initiatives through the use of data-driven approaches and a cultivation of deep market understanding.
    • Successful implementation of best practices in marketing automation and SEO attainment coupled with proven eCommerce, digital marketing, web site design and development skills (code, graphics, design elements, conversion enhancements, paid search, demand gen, social, content).
    • 4-year degree in marketing/digital marketing or related field is required. Advanced degree (MBA or related marketing degree) is strongly preferred.

    Compensation Package:


    Our client has been recognized as a great place to work! Compensation for this position includes a base salary with bonus based on annual goals.
