Need to be able to immediately handle a complex project and run with it requiring limited guidance. As a key member of this team, this role will be responsible for the following:


Job Summary:


The Development Manager will lead th executive of development strategy by managing all facets and activities related to new development projects in order to achieve established financial and growth targets. The Development Manager will lead the project from inception through to stabilization. The Development Manager will interface heavily with real estate owners, local brokers, senior executives, joint-venture partners and capital investors. Applicants must have strong analytical and quantitative skills, with an excellent financial acumena nd high proficiency with real estate underwriting and real estate finance concepts. Applicants must have dynamic verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.


Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Aggressively source development opportunities. Build relationships with key stakeholders including local land owners, brokers, equity partners and consultants.
  • Manage the pre-development process.
  • Develop and manage pre-development and project budgets.
  • Engage and oversee consultants for execution of all due diligence studies.
  • Determine highest priority isues for project plannign and reviews/refines preliminary layouts.
  • Responsible for project approval including master planning, preliminary plat and rezoning applications, revisions and approval, government agency coordination and final plat.
  • Participate in weekly Investment Committee meetings and provide Principals with progress updates on projects in search.
  • Manage the acquisition and due diligence process: develop feasibility analyses for new development opportunities; supervise brokers and attorneys in the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements; conduct and review preliminary site due diligence; participate in initial development concept; and manage escrow closing and loan disbursement process.
  • Maintains schedule of all hearing and meeting dates and prepares all necesary documents.
  • Establish open communication between consultants and CDG project team members, lenders and equity investors as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver visual aid presentation of Planning & Zoning, City Council and other public hearings and meetings as necessary.




  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Finance/Economics, Real Estate Development, Law or related discipline is required. Graduate degree or graduate student is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years prior real estate development or investment experience is required.
  • Excellend communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and react quickly in a demanding fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact with various officials, consultants and community groups.
  • Strong problem solving skills, creative thinking and solid organization and leadership skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to work equally well on own as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience in managing the land development approval process, working knowledge of public development ordinances and policies relatione dto all forms of land development.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, balance priorities and deadlines.
  • Travel will be required.
